Process Data set: Building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) facade cladding (en) en da

Key Data Set Information
Location RER
Reference year 2023
Name
Building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) facade cladding
General comment on data set The declared product is a building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) facade cladding manufactured by SolarLab.dk ApS. The nominal power per 1 m² is 140.35 Wp. The declared product has two functions: (i) to produce electricity and (ii) facade cladding in the building envelope. Moreover, the declared product can be customized to fit the specific design and aesthetic requirements of the building, with options for different colors, shapes and finishes. In order to account for the fact, that the BIPV façade elements are manufactured on a project basis (i.e. customized between projects) the material composition of the product represents an average product for the year 2022. Note that the electricity production (B6) from the photovoltaic laminate is site specific to the building project and should therefore be calculated seperately i.e. it is not accounted for in the dataset.

1This impact category deals mainly with the eventual impact of low dose ionizing radiation on human health of the nuclear fuel cycle. It does not consider effects due to possible nuclear accidents, occupational exposure nor due to radioactive waste disposal in underground facilities. Potential ionizing radiation from the soil, from radon and from some construction materials is also not measured by this indicator.
2The results of this environmental impact indicator shall be used with care as the uncertainties on these results are high or as there is limited experiences with the indicator.
